Cedars Business Centre has been transformed from a derelict site into a new business centre in Hemsworth. Cedars Business Centre offers office based facilities for upto 28 new companies. The aim of the site is to provide a business environment for new and up and coming businesses that will have access to guidance and support on the site.
The centre was opened by the Financial Secretary to the Treasury John Healey MP. The building has been designed with translucent walls. The material used for the building was Kalwall, which can insulate the building four times better than glass could. Child support is provided in the form of a Sure Start Development centre.
The Government’s single regeneration budget, Yorkshire Forward, The Coalfield Regeneration, Wakefield Council and European Regional Development provided more than £2 million for the project.
