It’s going to be ‘Magic’ going to the Engage Super League Magic Weekend in Edinburgh next week – that’s for certain.
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats can guarantee that because their talented Australian centre Daryl Millard’s nickname is ‘Magic’!
The 25 year old who joined the Wildcats from Canterbury Bulldogs last winter has become one of the most deadly finished in Super League XV and he’s certainly looking forward to his first trip to the Scots capital.
“I never been to Edinburgh before and I’m certainly looking forward to the experience.”
Daryl has settled well into life at the Hearwell Stadium and he is a popular member of the Wildcat squad.
“I’ve never even seen Murrayfield on television,” he smiled, “so maybe I ought to get busy on the internet and find out what the place looks like.
“I’ve heard from the guys at the club that it’s a fantastic place and the event is exciting too.
“I’m really looking forward to going to Scotland and seeing Murrayfield as well as play against Leeds Rhinos in the Magic Weekend.”
Injuries and transfers have impacted up the Wildcat results in recent weeks but Daryl remains optimistic.
“We’ve got a great team spirit here at Wakefield,” said Daryl. “It’s tough for us at the moment but I’m sure we’ll pull through.
“I really like the idea of seven games being played over two days at one venue and I’m looking forward to seeing how it works.
“We play Leeds Rhinos in the fourth of four games being played on Saturday which should be interesting seeing that we beat them at the Hearwell Stadium on February 14th.
“The Rhinos have had their own problems with form and injuries in recent weeks so it should be an interesting game between us.”
Tickets are still on sale for Magic Weekend in the Wildcats Superstore. Season Ticket holders are reminded that they can take advantage of the 50% discount until Monday 26th April.
