Silcoates in an Independant school that educates pupils from the ages of 0 years through to 18 years. There are three schools in the Silcoates family of schools. St Hilda’s school for boys aged 0-7 years and girls aged 0-11 years. . Sunny Hill House School for boys and girls aged 2-7 years and Silcoates school for boys and girls aged 7-18 years. The school has traditional beliefs and they want their pupils to learn hard and to take pride in the work that they do. They believe that paying attention to detail, considering other peoples beliefs and people’s opinions will help their pupils turn into responsible and mature adults. The content of the curriculum that they provide for their pupils is often the same as the National Curriculum however the school is constantly reviewing the curriculum they follow in order to ensure that it is correct for their pupils. The teaching ensures that pupils are given full attention, class sizes are around the size of around 16. The school believes the key to success is to make the work as fun, enjoyable and stimulating as they can.
