Henderson looks forward to Murrayfield Return

Wildcats’ Scots international Kevin Henderson is looking forward to his visit north of the border on Saturday.

Even though the Wildcats were beaten by the Bradford Bulls in the 2009 Magic Weekend programme Kevin is still anticipating stepping out against the Leeds Rhinos on Saturday night.

“It’s a great experience playing at Murrayfield,” said Henderson. “I love playing for Scotland at international level and it’s great that the game at the top level is going back north of the Border.

“I’ve got some relatives living in Scotland and this occasion will give a chance to come and see both the Wildcats and the rest of the clubs in action.”

Hendo has played four times for Scotland and together with his two brothers Ian and Andrew was included in the Scots squad for the 2008 World Cup in Australia.

Even though the boys were born in Torquay they have always honoured their Scots ancestry by playing under the Saltire’s banner.

“Murrayfield is a wonderful stadium,” he said. “The atmosphere is incredible and it’s a great place at which to play Rugby League.”

The Wildcats will be going to Murrayfield looking to draw a line under a run of four successive defeats but also to complete a double over Leeds whom they beat 28-18 at the Hearwell Stadium on February 14.

And Kevin revealed that the Wildcat squad are keen to get back into action.

“The boys are training well and we know that we face a serious challenge.

“But we’re anxious to get back on the winning horse after some of the last few results.

“We played well at Hull in a hard game but were just pipped at the last gasp.”
