Wildcats Head Coach John Kear (pictured) was in a ‘no nonsense’ mood immediately following Friday evening’s televised Engage Super League Round 14 defeat by Bradford Bulls.
He didn’t mince his words. “It was a horror show, especially in the second half”, he said.
“Some individuals in the team performed and put their hands up; but others didn’t and let themselves down.
“There’ll be a great deal of soul-searching between now and the Harlequins game as we try to come up with the solution to our poor form.
“In this competition you’ve got to compete and compete for the full 80 minutes.
“During the first ten minutes of the game we had to sustain considerable pressure but it was self-inflicted as we gave away a string of needless penalties.
“Some of these penalties are being given away by the same players on a regular basis. We’ve worked hard with them to try and eliminate these problems, but it’s quite clearly not working.
“These players have got to make think about what they’re doing and making changes to personnel is an option open to us.”
