Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have confirmed that they will not be offering their Australian skipper and centre Jason Demetriou a new contact at the end of the 2010 Engage Super League season.

John Kear, the Wildcats’ Head Coach and Director of Rugby, said: “We’d like to thank Jason for everything that he has done on behalf of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. He has been an amazing servant to the club.

“We would like to wish Jason the very best of luck for whatever he undertakes next in his career.

“He has been a loyal member of our squad since 2004 and the fact that he has had five successive seasons as captain of the side demonstrates the faith we’ve had in his ability, commitment and sheer will to win Super League games.”
