Injury-hit Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have turned to their young guns in the final stage of their preparations to face Huddersfield Giants at the Galpharm Stadium on Sunday.
In their 19-man squad named for the Engage Super League encounter, Head Coach John Kear has included 20-year-old hooker James Davey, 19-year-old half-back Matty Wildie, 20-year-old prop Ben Gledhill and 20-year-old utility back Kieran Hyde.
Meanwhile both full-back Matt Blaymire and back row forward Paul Johnson are included after recovering from injury but ruled out of the game are halfback pair Sam Obst (ankle) and Paul Cooke (knee) together with prop Paul King (ankle).
“Cometh the hour, cometh the youngsters”, said Wildcats Head Coach John Kear. “These young players are all part of our Super League squad at Belle Vue and I have every confidence that they will acquit themselves well at the Giants.”
The Wildcats 19-man squad is: Blaymire, Blanch, Gleeson, Millard, Jeffries, Korkidas, Morrison, Demetriou, Johnson, Henderson, Leo-Latu, Davey, Moore, Wildie, Gledhill, Kirmond, Hyde, Leaeno, Rinaldi.
