Led by Community Development Officer Gavyn Lighthowler, the Dads Fitness session is really taking off, now with 10 men aged from 36-52 years of age regularly attending the Monday Evening sessions. The hour-long session begin with fitness drills which warm up the group before they then move onto learning the basic skills of Touch Rugby. The group are hoping to enter a side into the Wakefield Wildcats Touch Rugby Competition, which is will be running from Wednesday 28th July.
Community Development Officer Gavyn Lightowler said, “They have made great progress over the 3 weeks that they have being involved in the Fitness class, with a couple saying they have used muscles they never even knew they had! We want to make the sessions as enjoyable and relaxed as possible so that men that have maybe not done any exercise at all for a while feel comfortable in attending the sessions. ”
The sessions are £2, run from 6:30pm till 7:30pm on a Monday evening and new starters are more than welcome to join anytime. For more information contact Gavyn Lighthowler in the Community Department – 0844 414 0665.
