Carnegie Challenge Cup Final tickets selling fast

posted on 9 August 2010

Rugby League supporters are being encouraged to move quickly to secure their seat at the historic 2010 Carnegie Challenge Cup Final following massive demand for tickets for the match between Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves at Wembley on Saturday, August 28.

Less than 24 hours after Cup holders Warrington booked a return to Wembley to face reigning Engage Super League champions Leeds, ticket sales had already passed 50,000 for the sport’s showpiece final.

The RFL Ticket Office opened over the weekend and staff were inundated with applications from Rugby League fans across the country. The RFL are confident that the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final will be a sell out as demand for tickets between two of Rugby League’s form teams exceed expectation.

“Since Leeds and Warrington booked their place in the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final, ticket sales have been very positive,” said RFL Customer Services Manager Kevan Williams.

“The RFL sold in excess of 7,000 tickets via the telephone system and on the official ticket website over the weekend.

“We have tickets available in all price categories, but we would urge supporters wishing to attend the final to start buying their tickets without delay as sales continue at a rapid rate.

“Early signs suggest that if we continue at this level we will be heading for a sell out at Wembley, which would be fantastic.”

The Rhinos will be returning to Wembley for the first time since 1999, when they defeated London Broncos in the final game at the old stadium, whilst their opponents Warrington are aiming to retain the trophy having defeated Huddersfield Giants last year.

Tickets for the Carnegie Challenge Cup final at Wembley on Saturday August 28 cost from just £21 and are available from the RFL Ticket Office on 0844 8561113 or by visiting www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk.
