The Wolves are top of the Valvoline Cup and it showed against a hard-working Wildcats second string.

Wakefield trailed 14-8 at halftime and although they toiled on in the second half they lacked the penetration and fire-power to disturb the league pace-setters.

There were tries for Wildcats from Danny Lawton, Chris Annakin and Joel Gibson while Annakin booted two goals
