Wakefield Trinity Wildcats wish to make it clear that they are fully aware of the current situation concerning its obligations to HMRC.
The Engage Super League Club continues to meet the payment plan that it agreed with HMRC in 2009 and the current position emanates from a taxation issue that has developed subsequently.
Diane Maskill, the Wildcats’ Managing Director, said: “We are continually monitoring the situation in conjunction with our financial advisor’s.
“We would like to assure Wildcats fans that there is no threat to the club’s future and that we have every intention of meeting our obligations to HMRC.
“The current action is simply a method of deciding the Wildcats’ tax liabilities as there is a difference of opinion on the amount owed to HMRC by the club.”
