Paul Brough, one of the gang of volunteer workers that assists Engage Super League club Wakefield Trinity Wildcats with maintenance tasks at Belle Vue Stadium, was named as the ‘Clubman of the Year’ during the Wildcats’ annual awards dinner at the City’s Cedar Court Hotel on Tuesday.
The presentation by the club’s Director of Operations, Francis Stephenson (pictured left), recognised Paul’s significant contribution not only his contribution as a volunteer but for the extra effort he makes on the club’s behalf.
Francis said: “Paul is a valued member of what we call our ‘Working Party’ gang to which he has belonged for some considerable time.
“He is totally committed to the club and has earned the respect of everybody at Belle Vue for his cheery and friendly approach as well as all the work he does on an unpaid basis for the Wildcats.”
Paul said: “I’m delighted to have been honoured in this way and I’m sure that there were other people at the club who deserved to win as much as me.”
