Wildcats face local rivals in Magic encounter

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats will face fierce rivals Castleford Tigers in an explosive opening to the 2011 season. The opening round will be played out in the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff next February as Millennium Magic weekend moves to the opening round of the Super League season.

Wakefield and Castleford take centre stage at 5pm on Saturday February 12th and Wildcats Head Coach John Kear is looking forward to it: “Magic weekend has been a great event over the last four years. I’m highly delighted with the move back to Cardiff and the Millennium Stadium, I think it’s a great move to introduce the Derby games back. I’m excited at the prospect of a fierce battle with our local neighbours Castleford Tigers at the prime time 5pm slot on Saturday. I’m sure lots of our fans will be there to cheer us on and get behind us as we look to lay down our marker for the season ahead.’

Tickets will be on sale from Wednesday 27th October. There are two types of tickets available to purchase. Reserved seating or unreserved seating, these are available for both the Saturday and the full weekend. Reserved seats for Saturday are priced from £35 adults and £17.50 concessions, with season ticket holders getting a fantastic 50% discount, vouchers much be brought into the Superstore. Reserved seating for the weekend will be £30 for adults and £25 concessions, with season ticket holders once again getting a 50% discount.

Unreserved seating is available with prices from £25 adults and £12.50 for the day tickets and weekend tickets available at £35 adults and £17.50, with season ticket holders getting 50% discount on these tickets.

A concession is a senior over 65 years, juniors aged 16 and under and students with a valid NUS card which must be shown at the turnstile and upon purchase of the ticket. Everyone must have a relevant ticket to gain entry to the ground, including infants under the age of 2, however these can be obtained free of charge from the Wildcats Superstore.

Ambulant disabled supporters can purchase their tickets through the Superstore, however any wheelchair users must speak to the RFL directly on 0844 8561113.

To book your place at Millennium Magic, WiSCA are running a weekend visit 12th /13th February to Cardiff for the Millennium Weekend staying 1 night in Merthyr Tydfil.

The cost of the visit will include all coaching, bed and breakfast and a buffet on Saturday evening is £70 for WiSCA members and £80 for Non WiSCA members based on 2 sharing a room. Single occupancy is £90. Tickets for the games are not included but can be purchased at the Wildcats Superstore from Wednesday 27th October.
