Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are delighted to announce the signing of Wigan duo Josh Veivers and Stuart Howarth.
Full back Veivers and loose forward Howarth have both represented Wigan Warriors in the last three academy grand finals. Veivers is a goal kicking full back whose conversion rate has been over 80% for the Warriors in the last three seasons, whilst Howarth captained the Wigan team in the 2010 Grand final, winning the prestigious Man of the match award in his final game for the Cherry and Whites. Both players scored tries in the win, with Josh kicking four goals.
Wildcats Director of Rugby and Head Coach said: ‘We are thrilled with the acquisition of Veivers and Howarth. They are two highly acclaimed young british rugby league players who we believe have the talent, drive and hunger to succeed in the game’.
Stuart Howarth said: ‘I’m delighted with the move; I think I needed a new challenge and I’m glad John has given me the opportunity to play Super League’
Josh Veivers added: ‘I’m happy for the opportunity to play 1st grade Rugby League, I didn’t have much opportunity at Wigan so I’m really looking forward to it’.
