All 14 teams will be shown live over the opening weekend of Engage Super League XVI, the 20th season of rugby league on Sky Sports.

In consultation with the RFL and the Super League clubs, Sky Sports has confirmed the first 25 live Engage Super League XVI fixtures from Rounds 1 to 14.

Live coverage begins on Saturday 12 February when Engage Super League Magic Weekend returns to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. The weekend after Hull will host Leeds on Friday 18 February at 8pm, followed by Castleford v Huddersfield on Saturday 19 February at 6pm. This season Sky Sports HD will broadcast a total of 58 matches from Engage Super League XVI exclusively live and in high definition. Sky Sports viewers can look forward to:

· The World Club Challenge match at the DW Stadium between Wigan Warriors and St George-Illawarra on Sunday 27 February.

· All four leading clubs from Engage Super League XV shown live twice by Round 8 and every club shown live, at least twice by Round 11.

· Bradford v Leeds, Hull FC v Hull KR, and Wigan v St Helens over Easter Weekend with Catalans at home to Bradford on Easter Monday.

· Exclusively live coverage of every Play-off match plus the Engage Super League Grand Final from Old Trafford.

Announcing the new fixtures, Neville Smith, Executive Producer Sky Sports Rugby League programming said: “We have shown Rugby League on Sky Sports for 20 years and it’s been a privilege to be part of its growth. We’ve showcased innovations such as the video referee and have been the first to broadcast the game in HD and now 3D. This season explodes into life with all 14 teams being shown live in Cardiff from Millennium Magic weekend and over the weekend of the 20th anniversary of our first Rugby League broadcast we’ve got three mouth-watering matches Bradford v Leeds, Hull v Hull KR, and Wigan v St Helens, plus Catalans v Bradford on Easter Monday.”

This will be the fifth season Sky Sports has broadcast live coverage of Rugby League in HD. In addition live coverage of Engage Super League on Sky Sports will be available on Sky Player and Sky Mobile.
