Trinity Legend Dies

Former Wakefield Trinity, Yorkshire and England centre, Donald ‘Don’ Froggett, has sadly passed away at the age of 81.

Don’s eleven year stint at Wakefield Trinity, beginning in 1948 and lasting until 1959, is fondly remembered by hundreds of supporters. Froggett played 219 games for the club, clocking up a total of 284 points single handily.

Don’s success didn’t stop at Wakefield Trinity, he gained representative honours when he was selected to play for England against France in 1953 and was also chosen to play for Yorkshire on twelve occasions.

Donald Froggett was a key piece in Wakefield Trinity’s historic jigsaw and will be sadly missed by many.

Former team mate and centre partner Neil Fox said, “Don was a great mentor for me when I came into the Wakefield team, and I remained friends with him and his family.”

Our thoughts go to his family and friends at this sad time.
