Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are delighted to announce, alongside the takeover news, the capture of three new players ahead of the visit to Catalans this weekend.
Winger Greg Johnson and centre Josh Griffin join the club on a permanent deal from Huddersfield Giants, whilst prop forward Kyle Amor joins on an initial one month loan from Leeds Rhinos.
Johnson is an explosive winger, who possesses great speed and strength and is excellent with the ball in hand, he impressed during the pre season friendly in which he crossed the whitewash for the Giants.
Griffin will be back in familiar surroundings as he returns to the Wildcats from Huddersfield Giants. He made his debut for the Wildcats in the Challenge Cup victory against Salford in 2008. With his ability to play at full back, winger or centre, Josh’s versatility will be a great asset to the 2011 Wildcats side.
Prop Kyle Amor is a rough, tough Cumbrian that will add go forward and aggression to the pack. Originally from Championship club Whitehaven, Amor was in demand in 2010 with both Leeds and Huddersfield fighting over his signature.
All three players are thrilled with their move. Kyle told us, “I’m really looking forward to playing regular Super League; I want to prove myself at this level. I will use this opportunity to its full potential and want to return to Leeds a better player.”
Both Huddersfield players are just as excited. Josh said, “It’s great to be back here. I’m looking forward to the challenge that awaits and I can’t wait to get out on the field in a Wildcats shirt.”
Johnson added, “I can’t wait to begin training straight away and become part of the team. There seems to be a great group of players and staff here and I really hope I can succeed here and increase my game time.”
This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
