Future Einsteins Tackle Fitness Education with Wildcats

Leading Wakefield Private Day nursery, Future Einsteins decided it’s never too early to promote health and fitness to children so they decided to ‘tackle’ the issue head on.

Owner Christine Cody-Owen, suggested that as part of their monthly discussion topic on healthy eating and exercise, it would be good to see what real fitness meant.

So 17 very excited pre school children aged 3-5 years paid a visit to see the Wakefield Wildcats First Team squad being put through their paces.

There to meet them at the training ground was Wildcats mascot Daddy Cool who turned up to show the children some of his favourite moves, much to their delight.

The youngsters watched Wildcat Coach John Kear in full flow, pushing the players through their tough and demanding fitness conditioning routines.

Christine added, “The children really enjoyed seeing the players at such close proximity and they were amazed by how strong they were.”

Afterwards, the children were able to meet and greet the players and play ball on the pitch. Some of them were so enthusiastic they couldn’t wait to start some tackling practice of their own!

John Kear said, “The Wildcats is a special club at the heart of the community and it’s great if we can inspire little ones into enjoying a life of sport..

Even at 5 years old it is unfortunately a common sight to see children who are already on the road to obesity, so educating the little gang from Future Einsteins with a display from the Wildcats was an absolute pleasure. “
