Rinaldi Named in ‘Frontline Team of The Week’

posted on 24 March 2011

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats French hooker Julien Rinaldi has been named in Frontline’s Team of The Week after his impressive performance against Hull FC at the KC Stadium on Friday night.

The team is chosen based on individual statistics provided by OPTA. Julien has been on top form since the start of the season and has featured in every fixture so far.

Castleford Tigers stand-off Rangi Chase has been crowned Frontline Index Player of the Round following his performance in last weekend’s Engage Super League Round 6 match against Bradford Bulls.

Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield is still leading the race for the final reward after gaining the most points in a round following his Round 2 total of 987, narrowly ahead of team-mate Brent Webb’s Round 5 score of 982.

Hull FC are the only side to have more than one representative in this week’s Frontline Index with Danny Tickle joining captain Craig Fitzgibbon in the forwards after their 20-6 defeat to Wakefield Wildcats. As mentioned, our very own forward Julien Rinaldi, has also been included in the Team select.

Huddersfield’s Luke O’Donnell, Salford’s Ryan Boyle and Bradford’s Nick Scruton complete the forward line-up.

Taking up the wings in the Frontline Index Team of the Round are Leeds Rhinos player Ryan Hall and Wigan Warriors’ Josh Charnley.

Also included in the team are Hull KR’s Scott Murrell. Warrington Wolves centre Matty Blythe and Catalan Dragons player Ben Farrar.

Points are calculated from every action made by players with every involvement given a points value depending on the importance and frequency of the action. For example a try would be the highest scoring value, with actions such as tackles and carries scoring smaller values. Mistakes such as handling errors or penalties conceded would incur negative values.

At the end of a match, all the players’ actions will be added together to give a game score. The 13 individuals with the highest scores in each position on the field of play will earn inclusion in the Frontline Index Team of the Week with the highest scoring individual earning the Frontline Index Player of the Week title.

The player with the single most outstanding performance during the regular season will win the Frontline Index and be presented with a £1,000 cheque at the 2011 Engage Super League Man of Steel dinner.
