Our Super League Application has now been delivered!
Myself, Head Coach John Kear, Commercial Manager Martin Hopkins and of course, our very own Daddy Cool, went to Red Hall this lunch time to personally hand over our application. The team travelled to Leeds in style in a 7 seater Mercedes Benz courtesy of key partners David Palmer Travel. It’s taken all the team here virtually 4 solid weeks to compile. I must say, as the boss, a big thank you to all the staff that have helped with this application. Everyone, without exception, has put in 100%.
The full document is over 700 pages, outlining our plans for the future of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in Super League. If all goes as we hope, this really will be a top Super League club.
We are all feeling quietly confident about our Super League future, as we all believe in the product we have and the strength of the new company. Saying that, we all have to try and keep our feet on the ground. As much as we would all like to forget about the previous company’s administration, it does have a significant bearing on our application, we just hope it’s not too much. Our plans moving forward do produce the sustainable business I wanted for the club, allowing us to spend to full salary cap, providing a great commercial package and as always delivering some fantastic work in the Wakefield community.
The application is going to be viewed over the next couple of months, so all our fans still have time to make a difference, by proving to the RFL that we have a fantastic fan base. We need to see each and every one of you here, week in week out.
Our membership is still well below the 5000 mark, that the application requires, so as a last chance, special offer; I am prepared to offer Silver Membership for £20, until the Harlequins game on the 10th of April. With this, I will include a FREE ticket for the Harlequins game at The Rapid Solicitors Stadium, which means that if you were coming to this game anyway, you have received the membership virtually for free! Please note that this offer is only available with one of the special vouchers that will be in tomorrow’s Wakefield Express.
On another note, we are constantly updating our Facebook page with Wildcats news, views, photos and videos. If you haven’t already done so, search for Wakefield Wildcats and then ‘Like’ the page. The RFL are looking for clubs that are forward thinking and developing the new phenomenon that is modern social media therefore the more progress we make in this area the better! May I also inform fans that we are in the process of changing the name of the page to ‘Wakefield Trinity Wildcats’. This is something that has to be done externally by Facebook but we are working to get it changed as soon as possible.
If there are any developments with the licence application, I will let you all know straight away through our site.
This is Wakefield. Together we are Stronger.
