Well its game day. The biggest game of the season so far, and the first time we have played Leeds under the new regime. Preparation has gone well this week, both on and off the field. The players I have spoken to are really up for it; they understand what it means to us all to beat Leeds. I can assure you that they will give it their all.
I am sure you will notice a few changes around the ground and I hope you all can see that we are going in the right direction. We have to remember that everything we do here is temporary, and we are trying not to waste any money.
I don’t think we could have worked in a better place this week. The win against Hull has really boosted us. Everyone, no matter which department, has been walking (or running) around with a smile on their face and a very positive attitude. It would be nice to see some of the presenters on TV getting behind us, rather than always knocking down our efforts. I think it’s time for them to actually pay attention to what is going on here and give us the praise we are earning.
A win today will put us on positive points and if we are really lucky, another place up the league. Our on field efforts will make a difference to our Super League application, so let’s all keep our fingers crossed.
All the team have put a massive effort in over the last couple of weeks, trying to get all the information together for our application. We are nearly there now and will have it over to Red Hall in time for the deadline. As much as we believe we have a very good chance of staying up, we all have to remember what happed in February with the administration. This is the only thing we can’t influence in our application. We have to hope the RFL board will see the future as more important that the past.
It would be great to see a full Belle Vue today; we need to see some of those sleeping fans coming out and seeing what will hopefully be a great performance. It’s a real chance for us to show people what we can do and prove that we are worth fighting for.
We have put a promotion on the beer prices again, with a pint being £2.50. If you get to Cats Bar for 12.00, we are also having a happy hour, with 4 pints for the price of 3!
I look forward to seeing you all there
