Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are delighted to announce another addition to the 2011 squad.
The Wildcats have this morning captured the signature of Australian Prop, Jarrad Hickey. The towering 6ft 5” forward has signed a 2 year contract with the Club subject to UK Border Agency Approval and a successful Visa application.
Hickey joins The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats after an eight year spell at NRL club Canterbury Bulldogs. The powerful prop is well known for his strength and ruthless defence and will be a great asset to the Wildcats pack.
Wildcats Head Coach John Kear commented, “We are delighted to welcome Jarrad to the Club. I think it was acknowledged that at the start of the season we were light on the forward pack, but with the recent addition of both Liam Higgins and Jarrad, I feel our forward pack is certainly a force to be reckoned with.”
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Chief Executive James Elston added, “It’s fantastic that Jarrad has joined the Club.”
“He is an impressive, powerful player that will that will give us great experience for our younger guys and give us some size upfront . I am certain he will impress here at Wakefield and I look forward to his arrival.”
Jarrod is just as happy about his move to Wakefield, “I’m really looking forward to playing here. I would like to thank the Club for giving me this great opportunity and I can’t wait to get out on the field and prove my worth to the Wildcats fans.”
This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
