The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats reserves claimed a 48-24 victory over local rivals Huddersfield Giants on Saturday.
The young Wildcats side put 9 tries past the visiting team and ran away with a 24 point lead. Touchdowns came from Liam Kay (2), Kevin Penny, Will Colleran, Kieran Hyde, Mikey Tate, James Davey, Danny Cowling and Kyle Trout. Trout’s try came from an impressive 60 metre sprint beating off the Huddersfield winger and full back.
With the scores standing at 22-12 at half time, it was the Giants that were to score first in the second half but Wakefield upped their game and scored over 20 points in the last 30 minutes. James Davey put in an impressive performance and the team left with a very comfortable 2 points.
The next Wildcats Reserves fixture takes place this Saturday at The Rapid Solicitors Stadium at 2.30pm against Harlequins. The boys will be eager to make it two in a row in what is sure to be a competitive, exciting game.
