Wakefield Trinity Wildcats would like to make spectators aware that prior to the Challenge Cup 5th Round Clash between Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Castleford Tigers on Saturday 21 May, motorists may possibly experience road congestion and potential delays due to the new openings of the Trinity Walk Shopping Centre and the Hepworth Gallery.
Traffic congestion is likely on all major routes both into and out of Wakefield on match day. The Wildcats would like to recommend that supporters use public transport, car share or use independent supporter coaches to ease the traffic congestion. Supporters from Castleford are recommended to park around Heath Common which is only a short walk away.
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats General Manager Davide Longo added “Traffic arrangements have been planned in consultation with the police, Wakefield Council and the Highways Agency to “minimise disruption” for regular road users and supporters wanting to watch the rugby league. This will not be a problem at all if supporters are aware of the situation and set off earlier to the ground. In addition the club will be opening the turnstiles from 12pm, with pre match entertainment and all the bars open throughout the day.”
The game is set to be near capacity as fans from Wakefield and Castleford will be eager to watch the live Challenge Cup derby action! Purchase your tickets now to avoid disappointment. All junior members are reminded that they can enter the game for FREE and just simply need to produce their voucher at the turnstiles on Saturday. This game is not ticket only, entry can be made on the gate on match day.
