Last night saw the success of ‘An Evening with Joe Frazier’ at The Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
The boxing Legend came to Wakefield for a Sportsman’s Dinner and was greeted by nearly 200 excited guests. The evening consisted of a delicious meal, fine wine, an open question and answer session with Joe and an auction of special memorabilia.
All the guests had a great evening and a lot of positive feedback was given on the quality of the food, the compere Jed Stone and the opportunity to speak to Mr Frasier at the end. This part of the event over ran by 45 minutes due to the sheer volume of interest in such a true legend of the sporting world. The event began with pre dinner drinks at 7.30pm and the last guest didn’t leave until 1am – a true indication of how much everyone enjoyed the night.
Joe Frazier was a true gentleman and told us on a number of occasions how much he loved being at the stadium. When discussing the club and the current Super League license situation he simply could not comprehend how a club with such historic value could not be in Super League. He said, “I had a great evening at the stadium last night and it was fantastic to meet so many people. I really wish the Wakefield Wildcats well for the rest of the season and I will be backing them to stay in the league all the way.”
Head of Corporate Relations at The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, Graham Easby, added, “It was brilliant to see the venue being used to it’s true capabilities in hosting a Sportsman’s Dinner. It was great to see so many people at the event and I look forward to arranging many more in the future.”
This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
