MP Pledges Support To Wildcats

posted on 30 June 2011

A Member of Parliament came to visit The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats last week and was impressed with what he witnessed.

Mr Jon Trickett, MP for the Hemsworth Constituency, came to The Rapid Solicitors Stadium to meet with our Community Development and Management Team.

Mr Trickett has been an MP for 16 years and is the former leader of Leeds City Council. He came to discuss The Wildcats Community Trust work and the integration with local schools and businesses.

Jon had never been to meet The Wildcats before and was delighted with his invitation to the ground by Director of Education, Mark Winder. Mr Trickett enjoyed hearing all about the work that The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats do in the Community Trust Department and was incredibly impressed with the level of work that we achieve.

Mr Trickett has pledged his support to the Club; he is keen to help in whatever way he possibly can and wants to assist in developing this Club for the future.

Mark Winder is thrilled with Mr Trickett’s commitment, “It was fantastic to meet Jon, he was incredibly inspirational in his opinions and it’s great to know that, as a Rugby League fan, he wants to support the Club in moving forward.”

As a Club we would like to thank Jon for his support and look forward to working with him in the close future.

This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
