All of the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Junior Teams picked up victories this weekend against Salford City Reds.
The Under 15s, Under 16’s, Under 18’s and The Reserves all left with the two points after claiming comprehensive wins on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Under 18’s played on Thursday and thrashed their opponents 58 points to 16. The young side dominated from start to finish and were clinical with the ball in hand. The defence was strong as the score line clearly demonstrates. On Saturday afternoon the Under 15’s won 30 points to 10 and the Under 16’s won 32 points to 10. Both teams executed well and made great strides in defence and claimed strong, convincing results.
The Reserves played the ‘curtain raiser’ to the first team fixture on Friday night. Two tries each from both Grayston and Trout helped the Wildcats beat The Reds by 37 points to 16. Salford were the first to get the points on the board but Wakefield soon hit back with a try from Trout. Grayston went on to score two tries in a row and another from Wildie in the second half took the Wildcats further into the lead. Trout’s second and a drop goal from Kieran Hyde closed the game with the young guns claiming a fantastic 37-16 victory. Grayston’s 100% accuracy with the boot kept the points climbing and ensured that the Wakefield side left with the two points.
Well done to all teams on four fantastic victories this weekend. The youth development scheme is a major part of the Club and clean ups such as these are great for the team and the coaching staff alike.
