School rewarded for exceptional effort

Children from a Barnsley school were incredibly excited today after receiving a special gift from their class teacher. Royston Parkside Primary School Year 2 children were enjoying their last day of the school year when their class teacher presented them all with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats teddy bears and 2 Wakefield Trinity Wildcats home shirts, given for exceptional effort throughout the school year.
The Wildcats have built up a great relationship with various Barnsley schools through the Wakefield Wildcats Community Trust. The trust has delivered a variety of physical activity and educational programmes throughout the Barnsley area, promoting health and positive lifestyles.

Mark Winder, Director of Education added:
‘Sport has the ability to motivate young people and by using our branding we aim to raise aspirations and demonstrate how hard work leads to success. I would like to add to all children and young people, enjoy your holidays, but remember to play safe! ‘

As a result of this initiative, several of the young people will be attending our Summer Camp next month 1st – 4th August, at Thornes Park, as well as one lucky prize winner deciding that they would now like to experience a home game.
