Wildcat Dolls star in Race for life success

posted on 18 July 2011

Yesterday saw our very own Wildcat Dolls lead the warm up in the annual Cancer Research’s Race for Life event. This is the second successive year that the Projects Manager Sarah Elston and the Wildcat Dolls have been approached by the event organisers to do.

The Dolls got the event underway by leading the warm up on stage to the 3000 ladies who were taking part. The Wildcats mascot Daddy Cool joined in the fun and took the stage with the girls performing his own dance moves in preparation for the 5k race.

After successfully getting the crowds warmed up, the Dolls took to the field and joined the rest of the ladies in Wakefield in competing in the race and raising money for a fantastic cause.

Projects Manager Sarah Elston said: ‘It was a fantastic girl’s day out and a brilliant turn out by the women of Wakefield. It is the second year that we have led the warm up and it’s a fantastic honour to be asked again and a great overall experience to be involved in.’

The Wildcats Community and Marketing team were also on hand at the finish line to give all the ladies who took part a flyer that they can redeem at the Wildcats Superstore for a free ticket to watch the Wildcats take on Crusaders RL on Sunday 31st July. A game in which, Britain’s Got Talent finalists New Bounce will be performing live during the half time interval. If you didn’t take part in the Race For Life but would like the chance to see New Bounce perform live, you can purchase tickets for just £10 for adults and £5 for concessions at the Wildcats Superstore.
