The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are fulfilling a fan’s life long dream this weekend at the game against Saint Helens.
Mrs Angela Widdop will be a mascot at the match this Sunday and will lead the team out with first team star Julien Rinaldi.
Angela began supporting Trinity as a child and has been a dedicated supporter ever since. Angela was born with curvature of the spine and has recently been informed that her spinal condition will leave her reliant on a wheelchair. It was this news that spurred Angela on to contact the Club to complete a life long dream of walking out with the players at a Wildcats game.
Wildcats Chief Executive James Elston is honoured to have Angela with us on Sunday, “When we heard of Angela’s wish to lead the team out we were eager to make this happen for her.”
“On behalf of all the staff and players at the club, we hope she has a great day on Sunday and that she brings the team plenty of luck when they take on St Helens.”
Angela is delighted that her dream is finally becoming a reality, “Walking out on Sunday will be such a proud momnet for me – I look at the team as my lads!”
Angela, her family and her carer Nita Brook will be dining in the 1873 suite and enjoying a hospitality experience throughout the afternoon. We hope that Angela thoroughly enjoys her day and we wish her all the best for the future.
This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
