The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats community team and Wildcats first team stars have been out and about once again!
Continuing on the summer camp theme, former Stanley Rangers and current Wildcats first teamers, James Davey and Matty Wildie, visited the Rangers this week to give something back to the club that produced them.
The evening was open to all age groups from Stanley Rangers and had Wildie and Davey, along with Development Officers Richard Cattley and Gavyn Lightowler, delivering a skills session and finishing off with some small sided games.
All the children who attended had to brave the harsh weather but despite the driving rain, the evening was very well received. Each child who took part received a ticket to the Castleford game on Saturday 20th August and was treated to coaching sessions from the Super League stars.
Richard Cattley commented, “It’s good to see the players turn up to support the community events we hold. The players are the people the children aspire to be and it means a lot to them that they can turn up to things like this and give something back. The fact they are both ex-Stanley players makes them even more of a role model in the kids’ eyes. I’d like to thank Matty and Jimmy for giving their time up, it was a great evening”.
The Wildcats Community team are hosting another evening next week at Eastmoor Dragons on Wednesday 18th with Luke George and Greg Johnson scheduled to attend. For further information please contact the Wildcats community department on 01924 211611.
