The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are delighted to announce another player that will be returning to the club next year.
Wakefield have successfully gained the release of Peter Fox from his last year of contract with Hull KR, signing the England wingman on a three-year deal.
‘Foxy’ as he is known to his team mates returns to The Wildcats after a successful four year spell at East Yorkshire side Hull KR, in which he was the clubs top try scorer for three consecutive years.
Peter, 26, is no stranger to Wakefield after spending the 2007 season here and touching down 12 times for the red, white and blue. The impressive winger has earned himself six caps for England and crossed the line in the 2009 Four Nations Final against Australia at Elland Road.
Fox’s pace, experience and ability to find the try line will make him a fantastic addition to the Wildcats squad for the next three years and we look forward to welcoming him back.
Peter is delighted with the move to his former club, “The Wildcats were my first Super League club back in 2007 and after a memorable season it was a major decision to move to Hull KR.”
“It is exciting to make a return to the Wildcats when everything is new: a new ambitious management, new Super League licence, building of a new squad and a new stadium in the pipeline.”
“Having topped Rovers try chart in three of my four seasons at Craven Park, I am looking forward to regularly touching down for the Wildcats and adding to my six caps for England. I can’t wait to get back!”
Wildcats Chief Executive James Elston is equally as excited, “I am very happy to be able to welcome Foxy back to Wakefield and am pleased that we have captured his signature for the next three seasons.”
“He is a very dynamic player who has shown great skill over his career that has deservedly earned him his representative honours. I’m very much looking forward to seeing Peter in action for us and I can’t wait for his first try of many in the Wildcats shirt once again!”
The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats would like to take this opportunity to also confirm the release of centre Chris Dean. Chris will join the Widnes Vikings next season and we would like to wish him all the best in his future career and thank him for his time at Wakefield.
This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
