Wildcat Girls Raise Cash for Kit!

posted on 8 August 2011

The Wildcats Girls Rugby Academy raised a fantastic £544.53 at ASDA Wakefield Superstore last Saturday.

The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Girls Rugby Team took to the Superstore to raise funds for the community teams training and playing kit. A group of players, parents, and volunteers worked tirelessly from 10am – 3pm, on a variety of fundraising activities including; face painting, a cake and book sale, bag packing and balloon modelling.

Parent Jon Robinson commented on his involvement during the day “It was a lot of fun helping to fundraise for the girl’s team. My own daughter Lucy has benefited so much from the team and the efforts of the Academy, especially through Community Development Officers Clare and Dan – not just physically but socially, having made great friends from being a part of a ‘team’.”

“Raising the money for the girl’s kit was a bonus but the fun and togetherness of the team was what it was really about!”

On behalf of the girls and the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Community Team we would like to thank our official partners of the club, ASDA, for allowing us to fundraise at the store, and to those who supported us on the day – your help is very much appreciated!
