Wildcats and Hepworth Team Up for Family Fun!

posted on 12 August 2011

The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have teamed up with Yorkshire’s major new gallery, The Hepworth Wakefield, to offer families a special offer to brighten up their Summer holidays.

From Toddler Tuesdays and giant sculpture-making, to creating collages and discovering how to carve like Barbara Hepworth, The Hepworth Wakefield is offering a family programme full of fun, creative activities and workshops to help keep your little ones entertained this summer.

And now, in partnership with The Wildcats, every booking for a family workshop or activity (including free sessions) will be entered into a prize draw, to win a pair of complimentary children’s tickets to the final game of the season at The Rapid Solicitors Stadium against the Bradford Bulls on Friday 9 September.

First Team Stars Stuart Howarth and Paul Johnson paid The Hepworth a visit to support our partnership and were photographed with Natalie Walton and two children taking part in one of the fun days.

Natalie Walton, Head of Learning at The Hepworth Wakefield said: “We’ve had an amazing start to our first year, welcoming over 175,000 visitors in just 11 weeks!  Learning is at the heart of what we do at The Hepworth and we’re delighted to have the Wildcats on board supporting our family programme this summer. I look forward to continuing to develop our partnership with the team, so watch this space!”

Sarah Elston Wildcats Projects and Events Manager said, “We’re delighted to work in partnership with The Hepworth Wakefield.  Wakefield Trinity Wildcats already does extensive work within the local community and this partnership will further enhance and develop this. We look forward to working alongside The Hepworth in future community activities!”

This summer kids of all ages can enjoy creative, hands-on workshops for all the family with The Hepworth Wakefield. Children aged between 6 and 11 can explore the galleries, collections and displays with the Family Gallery Trail or the new Eva Rothschild trail.

Kids can create their very own masterpiece and join an artist on one of the Art Pods, or pick up an Explorer Backpack and become an Art Detective. Outside, families can explore the gallery gardens and The Black Cloud art installation, bring a picnic or enjoy a ride the zip-wire in the riverside Play Area.

Make the most of this partnership and go along to visit The Hepworth Wakefield. To find out more about the family summer programme please go to www.hepworthwakefield.org or ring the Learning Team on 01924 247398.
