Today sees the first outing of the brand new Wakefield Trinity Wildcats inflatable sports arena, in partnership with Global Games.
Alongside West Yorkshire Police, Primary Care Trust and the community of Agbrigg, the new arena provides a great base for sporting activities for the young people of the community. The arena is part of the West Yorkshire Police’s i11 project – an initiative encouraging 11-18 year olds to do something positive for their community.
Director of Education, Mark Winder is especially pleased with the possibilities the inflatable will bring: “thanks to the Global Games inflatable sports arena, it will allow us to bring positive physical activities to the young people of the community, enabling them to integrate, work together as well as raise self-esteem and health through sport
“Many thanks to Global Games for their ongoing support, as well as to all those attending and involved. We will now be rolling this out across the academic year of 2012, throughout term-time and holidays, ensuring as many of Wakefield’s young people as possible are given the opportunity to be involved.”
The arena will be running all week from 11am to 2pm in the park on Agbrigg Road, opposite the Co-Operative supermarket. All ages and abilities welcome. A wide range of sports are on offer so there will surely be something to suit everyone!
This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
