The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Under 18′s claimed a fantastic last minute victory against Hull KR last night at The Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
The Wakefield Academy side were 2 points behind with only minutes remaining as the game looked to be ending in a defeat for the youngsters, but a last minute come back sent the Wildcats home smiling.
The first half was a closely contested fourty minutes with the scores sitting tight as the half time hooter blew. The second half began with a Wakefield touchdown and after 15 minutes of solid defence on their own line keeping Hull KR out, the visitors eventually broke through and crossed over the line.
A Rovers penalty put the away side 2 points in front but just moments later in the final minute of the game, The Wildcats put themselves in the lead with a fantastic interception that sent Callum Boyle flying over the line beneath the sticks. A successful conversion from Jordan Lowther ended the game with The Wildcats claiming a brilliant 44-40 victory over on form Hull KR.
The Reserves will be looking to pick up another win for the Wildcats youngsters as they take on The Rovers tomorrow at 2.30pm at Craven Park. Sitting fourth in the table, the under 20′s will be eager to claim another 2 points and overtake Hull FC to claim 3rd spot in the league.
First team players James Davey and Samy Masselot will be included in the line up, along with exciting new signing Ryan Tongia who will be playing his first game for The Wildcats. Come and support the team in Hull tomorrow and watch new Wakefield talent in action!
