Amor Ready to Take on The Rhinos

posted on 2 September 2011

Wildcats on loan prop forward, Kyle Amor, will be facing his parent club this evening as The Wildcats take on Leeds Rhinos at Headingley Stadium.

Kyle has enjoyed a fantastic spell at the club since joining us on loan from local club Leeds earlier in the season. He has earned himself a spot in the top 2 for the 2011 Player of The Year award and will go head to head with centre Aaron Murphy to claim the prestigious trophy on Tuesday 13th September at ‘Celebrate Wakefield’.

Kyle has played in 22 games so far for the Wildcats, only missing out on one occasion in Round 8. The strong forward has touched down four times in the Red, White and Blue and will certainly be a player that The Wildcats are keen to keep hold of.

Facing your former or parent club is always a nerve wracking, yet exciting task but Kyle assures us that he will not be letting it get to him and will be focussed on picking up the points for Wakefield, “I normally get really nervous before games anyway and if I didn’t there’d be something wrong, but the nerves and the butterflies have come a bit earlier this week I must admit.”

“But I’m just really looking forward to it, I’m going to go and play my game that I’ve played every week at Wakefield and hopefully that’ll be good enough to help us pick up a win and allow us to leave with the two points.”

With Leeds failing to be crowned Challenge Cup winners last weekend as they fell to a painful Wigan defeat, it could be said that the Wildcats are facing the blue and yellow at a good time but Kyle insists that the Rhinos side will be coming out fighting. “I know what they are capable and I’m sure Brian will be urging them to bounce back. They’ll want to show to the fans and to themselves that they are serious contenders to go on and win the Grant Final.”

“We at Wakefield know what to expect and we’ve got our game plan and we’ll be working hard to come up trumps! We’re focussed and ready and I just can’t wait.”

The Wildcats take on The Rhinos at Headingley this evening at 8pm in the penultimate game of the season. Come along and fill the away stand and cheer on our boys as they fight to pick up the 2 and leave with the victory!
