The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are pleased to inform fans of new professional contracts for two Academy starlets.
Danny Cowling and Kyle Trout have both signed one year deals with the Club that will see them join the First Team full time for the 2012 season.
Cowling is a 19 year old centre from Pontefract who has impressed at youth level for over 5 years after playing for amateur side Featherstone Lions. Danny has represented his country as an England Under 16 and is well known for his strength and speed. He has fully earned his progression to the first team next year.
He is joined by team mate Kyle, 20, who has also come through the Wildcats youth scheme. Before joining Wakefield, Trout played with Matty Wildie at amateur club Stanley Rangers and since his arrival at the club he has gone from strength to strength with this year proving to be a stand out season for the youngster. The strong prop or loose forward is great with ball in hand and has pace on his side which will make him a key asset to the first team squad.
Head of Youth Performance Tony Drury commented, “Both these players have worked extremely hard to get this contract and thoroughly deserve the opportunity.”
“I have every confidence in both these players playing regular first team rugby. This is another example of succesful players coming through the youth system here and I wish them every success for the future.”
