The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are delighted to announce another new recruit to the 2012 First Team squad.
Danny Washbrook has joined the Wildcats in a deal that will see him in Wakefield colours for the next three years.
‘Washy’ moves to Wakefield after a successful seven year spell at Super League club Hull FC in which he made 115 appearances touching down 11 times for the Black and Whites.
The 26 year old was born in Hull and was an impressive product of their academy system. Danny has the ability to play at hooker, centre, loose forward or in the halves and this versatility that he brings with him will prove to be a huge asset over the next three years for The Wildcats.
Wildcats Chairman Andrew Glover is thrilled to have Washbrook on board, “Danny is a great signing for us. Richard has seen his skill and work ethic first hand whilst at Hull and speaks very highly of the utility player.”
“His ability to play at a number of positions will further strengthen the squad next year and his big game experience will stand him in great stead.”
Danny is very much looking forwarding to joining the Wildcats, “At this stage in my career, I felt the time was right for a change and a new challenge for to kick me into gear. I had a number of opportunities that presented themselves, but I am delighted to be joining a club like Wakefield and continuing to work with Richard.”
“He is looking to build a competitive squad, everyone at the club is passionate about what they do and that is something I am looking forward to being part of. Like at Hull, it is another rugby league hotbed and the fans are mad about the club and the sport and I think that sort of atmosphere and environment would excite any player. I can’t wait!”
This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
