The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are delighted to inform fans that Kyle Amor has extended his stay at the club.
The Wildcats have signed Prop Forward Amor as part of a unique deal that is the first of its kind in Rugby League. Kyle has ultimately signed a three year deal at Wakefield and will be a Wildcats player. However, because he still has a year to run on his Leeds deal, halfway through the 2012 season, the Leeds Rhinos have the opportunity to resign the prop forward, but if this scenario does not arise, Kyle will remain a Wakefield player until 2014.
Kyle joined The Wildcats this year as a loan signing from local Super League club Leeds Rhinos and since his arrival has cemented himself as one of the stand out performers of the season. The strong forward has made 24 appearances in the Red, White and Blue and touched down 5 times, including one cross over against his parent side in the penultimate round of the year.
His impressive form all season has earned the player the accolade of ‘Members Player of The Year’, awarded at the End of Season Awards event and the Club are delighted to have kept the Cumbrian in Wakefield colours for potentially the next three years.
Wildcats Chairman Andrew Glover commented, “Keeping Kyle is fantastic news for everyone at the Club. He has proved to be a certain fans favourite and his on field performances have continued to impress the coaching staff and his fellow team mates.”
“Kyle’s work rate and determined attitude fit in perfectly with the Wildcats side and I can’t wait to see him in action for us once again.”
Kyle added, “I am really looking forward to another season with The Wildcats. My future is now secure and I can concentrate on playing well all season for Wakefield.”
“I’ve loved being at Wakefield this year and can’t wait to get started with the new coach and the new players.”
Wildcats Chief Executive James Elston is delighted with the arrangement that has been made, “This is a unique deal to be done between both clubs. It is great that Kyle will be classed as Wakefield player and if Leeds do not re-call him, I am looking forward to seeing Kyle impress at the prop forward role for the next three seasons here.”
“I would like to thank Gary Hetherington at The Leeds Rhinos for his time and co-operation with this deal.”
This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
