Wakefield Trinity Wildcats will embark on their Super League XVII campaign with a new logo on their chest.
As the club continues on an exciting new era under new owner Andrew Glover, new Head Coach Richard Agar and a host of top quality signings, a new logo has been designed that reflects the vision for the future whilst also maintaining some of the rich heritage the club is associated with.
The new logo features the Wildcats emblem that has been prominent during the club’s Super League years alongside the Fleur-de-Lys that is a reminder of the tradition the club is steeped in over it’s 138-year history.
All new Wildcats merchandise including replica shirts will feature the new logo with all signage at the Rapid Solicitors set to reflect the change in time for the start of the eagerly anticipated Super League XVII campaign.
Chief Executive, James Elston believes the logo is one the fans can be proud of.
“We have a great history and we wanted to reflect that in the logo, but also keep with the Wildcats emblem that is familiar to all of our younger supporters,” said Elston.
“The club is looking to the future and aiming to create a new chapter in our illustrious history, and the excitement for 2012 has been reflected in the feel around the club and the city over recent months.
“We smashed our first membership target of 2,500 and with more new signings in the pipeline I’m sure the people of Wakefield will continue to get behind their premier sporting club.”
The first merchandise featuring the new logo will be available when the new retail outlet opens its doors in the Ridings Shopping Centre this Saturday at 11am, with the club marking the launch by announcing the latest man to sign up to be part of the Wildcats in 2012.
