Wakefield Trinity Wildcats will face local rivals Castleford Tigers in a pre-season friendly at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

Richard Agar will get his first taste of a West Yorkshire derby against the Tigers in January.

New Head Coaches Richard Agar and Ian Millward will meet for the first time in a West Yorkshire derby on Sunday 22nd January (kick-off: 3.30pm) as they put the finishing touches to their preparations for Super League XVII.

With a number of new signings set to feature for both sides it promises to be a competitive encounter just weeks from the start of the eagerly anticipated 2012 campaign.

Tickets for Wildcats Gold Members and Tigers season ticket holders are priced at just £12 for adults and £5 for concessions/juniors if pre-purchased by Saturday 21st January.

Non-members can buy in advance with tickets priced at £14 for adults and £5 for concessions/juniors whilst this will also be the price for all supporters paying on the day.

Tickets are due to go on sale in early December with details to be posted on the official club website.

The match will not be contested for the Adam Watene Memorial Trophy, which will once again be played for in the traditional Good Friday derby.

The Wildcats have also confirmed another pre-season match in the lead-up to the new season with Agar’s men to visit Headingley Carnegie for the traditional Boxing Day fixture with champions Leeds Rhinos (kick-off: 11.30am).  Ticket details will be released in due course.

A friendly against Catalans Dragons is also pencilled in to conclude a pre-season training camp in the south of France.

The match is provisionally scheduled for Saturday 14th January with venue and kick-off time to be confirmed.
