Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are pleased to announce that new signings Dean Collis and Tim Smith have both been successful in their applications for a visa.
The duo are set to arrive in the UK within the next fortnight as the Wildcats prepare for the start of Super League XVII which sees the new-look squad travel to Widnes Vikings on Friday 3rd February.
Head Coach Richard Agar has also added to his pack with the confirmation of former Bradford Bulls and Harlequins prop Matt James signing a two-year deal.
A Welsh international, 24-year old James has joined from Championship club Barrow Raiders with his signing announced to supporters at Saturday’s season launch event.
Standing at 6ft 2in’s tall and weighing in at over 16 stone, James will provide a powerful option to the Wildcats front-row along with fellow new signings Andy Raleigh, Kyle Amor and Oliver Wilkes.
“I’m really looking forward to the new season and working hard to hopefully earn a place in the team,” said James.
“We’ve got a good squad here and we all want to perform well for Wakefield to give the fans something to cheer about on the pitch.”
The club can also confirm that Liam Higgins has been released from the club and both Samy Masselot and Semi Tadulala have not be retained for the 2012 campaign.
Everyone at the Wildcats would like to thank the trio for their contribution to the club and wish them all the best in the future.
This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
