Wakefield Wildcats have continued to build their behind-the-scenes team with the appointment of a new Retail Manager.
Tom Jones takes up his new post at the Wildcats with eleven years of retail experience behind him having worked for top national companies Sports Direct, Bench, Morrisons and most recently, Deichmann Shoes.
Originally from Anglessey in North Wales, 27-year old Tom had a busy first week as the Wildcats launched the brand new home and away replica kits, selling close to 700 shirts in the opening weekend on sale.
With less than two weeks left to go until Christmas it is sure to be a hectic opening to life in rugby league for Tom, but one he is already enjoying.
“I’ve noticed already that there’s a really good atmosphere about the club and it’s good to be able to come to a club that is looking to the future,” said Tom, who m2r Recruitment helped to put in post.
“We want to develop the Wildcats brand whilst also taking a steer to more smart/casual clothing as well as obviously the training gear and replica shirts we already sell.
“There’s already a start on that with the Heritage range but we’re also looking into the possibility of some limited edition Club 1873 merchandise that I’m sure supporters will be really excited about.”
Tom is a big sports fan and it’s not unusual to find him cheering on his beloved Manchester United in his spare time or spending time with his family.
The club are also pleased to inform supporters that the new 2012 replica shirts are now available to order online.
Following successful opening weekend sales, some sizes are limited in availability and it is to buy as soon as possible to ensure you have the correct size for Christmas.
