FANS TO BE ASKED TO ‘PROVE IT’ IN 2012

posted on 17 January 2012

The Wildcats will once again be implementing the ‘Prove It’ scheme at turnstiles throughout 2012.

The Wildcats will be running the 'Prove It' scheme once again in 2012

The ‘Prove It’ scheme is something that is now in operation across the country within all sporting venues, targeting supporters that purchase tickets that are not used appropriately.

‘Prove It’ will involve identification spot checks if it is felt that a supporter is trying to gain entry into the Rapid Solicitor Stadium using a match day ticket of any kind that isn’t suitable for that person.

The club wish to reiterate that an individual is eligible for a concession ticket if they are in further education or over 60 years of age.

These people would need to provide a valid NUS card for students and either a passport, driving license, bus pass or any other documentation that states both date of birth and includes photo identification for those over 60.

In addition, a supporter must be 16 years of age or under to be eligible to gain entry on a junior ticket, again providing suitable documentation to prove their age.

Any supporters that are under 5 years of age are allowed to gain entry into the stadium free of charge.

Wildcats General Manager, Davide Longo, said: “We evaluated the turnstile operations last season and found there to be a few discrepancies with the way that supporters were gaining entry into the stadium using incorrect tickets.

“We are adopting this scheme to ensure that the club continues to maintain and provide a fair service for its fans and supporters.

“This scheme will also be promoted to all the away fans visiting the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

“We’d like to thank supporters for their continued support and if you have questions regarding the scheme please feel free to contact the club on 01924 211611″.

The ‘Prove It’ scheme will be in operation when the Wildcats take on local rival Castleford Tigers this Sunday, kick-off: 3.30pm, with tickets on sale now.

Gold Members can save on the matchday price by buying before Saturday with tickets priced at £12 for adults and £5 for juniors/concessions and available to buy in either of the club’s retail outlets at the Ridings Shopping Centre or on Doncaster Road.

Prices for supporters who aren’t Gold Members, and for all supporters paying on the day, are £14 for adults and £5 for juniors/concessions.
