The Wildcats under 20’s Academy will start their 2012 campaign against Widnes Vikings in a curtain raiser to the opening match of Super League XVII.

The under 20's Academy coached by Glenn Morrison will start their campaign against Widnes Vikings

Glenn Morrison’s youngsters showed plenty of promise when a number of them faced Sheffield Eagles recently, and they will have their chance to impress as the crowd pours into the Stobart Stadium on Friday 3rd February.

The first home game of the season will, like the first team, be against Hull KR, but on Saturday 11th February with kick-off at 2.30pm.

A mid-season break during May and June will incorporate the popular rugby league Nines competition, before the second half of fixtures concludes at home to the Vikings at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

Entry to all under 20′s and under 18′s Academy fixtures at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium is free to all Gold Members and is a great opportunity to see some of the promising young talent being nurtured through the clubs youth development structures.

First team squad player Lucas Walshaw is one such youngster to keep an eye out for in 2012, with the powerful centre available for sponsorship having featured in all three pre-season warm-up matches.
