The media spotlight fell on the Rapid Solicitors Stadium yesterday as local and national press were in attendance for the 2012 Wildcats Media Day.

With the official Super League XVII launch at Old Trafford only days away, all fourteen teams have been busy holding their 2012 Media Day’s

The full first team squad and coaching staff were in attendance and returned for the press call after a full mornings training session in preparation for this weekends warm up game against Batley Bulldogs.

The squad and coaches began the afternoon by taking to the field to pose for the official 2012 team photo in the new kit and were photographed by many members of the media in preparation for the season ahead. Once the players were all finally in place, looking the right way and not pulling faces, they then faced the cameras once again for their individual head shots.

The next part of the afternoon took the team away from the bright lights of the cameras and in from the cold where they were all ready to meet the press and talk about both pre-season and the fast approaching Super League XVII campaign.

Every member of the first team was available for individual interview, apart from newly appointed Aussie skipper, Steve Southern, due to being on paternity leave after the birth of his first son on Tuesday morning.

New signings Richard Mathers and Ali Lauitiiti proved to be in high demand with local and national press including Peter Smith from the Yorkshire Evening Post, Nick Rigg from the Wakefield Express and Murray Burnell from Yorkshire Radio all eager to catch up with the new recruits.
