Wildcats prop Oliver Wilkes will look to prove he is ready for round one of the Stobart Super League season this weekend after being named in the squad to face Batley Bulldogs on Sunday.

Oliver Wilkes will look to prove his match fitness against the Bulldogs on Sunday.

Wilkes has been out of action since having his appendix removed the week before the team jetted to France on a pre-season training camp, and will make his first appearance since the Boxing Day clash against Leeds Rhinos when the Wildcats travel to Mount Pleasant (kick-off: 2pm).

The experienced forward is joined by the likes of Andy Ellis, Kyle Wood, Frankie Mariano, Matty Wildie and Kyle Amor in looking to put themselves at the forefront of Head Coach Richard Agar’s mind for selection against Widnes Vikings.

The squad also includes some of the exciting young talent in the first team ranks plus the likes of Academy players Tom Lillycrop and Adam Gledhill.

Wildcats squad: Motu Tony, Sam Fletcher, Danny Cowling, Lucas Walshaw, Dale Morton, Matty Wildie, Kyle Wood, Oliver Wilkes, Andy Ellis, Kyle Amor, Frankie Mariano, Adam Slater, Kyle Trout, Matt James, James Davey, Liam Kay, Russ Spiers, Tom Lillycrop, Adam Gledhill, Chris Annakin.

Tickets for Sunday’s game at Mount Pleasant are pay on the gate only and are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and £1 for juniors.
