AGAR RELISHING RETURN TO ACTION

posted on 23 February 2012

Head Coach Richard Agar believes his players will be raring to go against Bradford Bulls on Saturday after an enforced break last weekend.

Richard Agar believes his side have made best use of the enforced break last weekend.

The Wildcats were forced to sit out round three due to Leeds Rhinos involvement in the World Club Challenge and gave the squad longer to reflect on the frustrating loss to Hull KR.

But Agar believes he and his players have made the best use of the rest and will come into the game eager to get back into Super League action on Saturday night (kick-off: 7.45pm).

“We’ve had a week off and that can work both ways,” Agar told the pre-match press conference.

“We’d have rather have kept playing because we feel we’re finding some rhythm and we’re learning about each other all the time.

“The Hull KR game, there were a lot of positives for us.  We went toe-to-toe with a physical demanding team and we knew within that game we had opportunities to win the game.

Have you got your tickets for Saturday's game yet?

“The game hinged over a couple of minutes where we compounded two or three errors but we’re learning along the way.  We’ve got to view it as an opportunity to take the team forward even though sometimes it’s difficult circumstances.

“Having said that, it was very heavy conditions and we did have some impact on a number of players in terms of their calves and their groins.

“To be able to freshen them up early in the week and not be rushing around at the back end of the week with preparation, then hopefully we’ve managed that side of things well and we’ll have the boys chomping at the bit on Saturday.”
