Oliver Wilkes says the Wildcats will be ready for the Bradford Bulls backlash when the two teams meet at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium tonight (kick-off: 7.45pm).

Wilkes says the Wildcats will need to be ready for a Bulls backlash tonight.

Bradford Bulls will make the short trip across West Yorkshire on the back of a resounding loss to Wigan Warriors at the Grattan Stadium last time out.

The Wildcats were forced to sit out last weekend with Leeds Rhinos in World Club Challenge action and the prop forward says he and his teammates will have to be prepared for a flying start from the visitors.

“They’ve come off the back of a defeat last weekend against a very strong Wigan side,” commented Wilkes.

“I think Wigan would have done that to anybody in the competition.

“They were on fire having watched the video.

“They’re going to be smarting so they’ll come out all guns blazing and it’ll be down to us to stop them getting any momentum.

“We’ve had two weeks to work on their game plans and structures.  Obviously they’ve had a few forced changes but hopefully all the stuff we’ve done and all the systems we’ve put in place we’ll be able to come away with a win.

“The stats say that we made 300 metres more than Hull KR in that game which normally results in a Wakefield win.  That just goes to show how strong the Hull KR defence was on their line.

“They had a couple of forced injuries and interchanges they had to make but I thought they played really well and we were unlucky not to come away with the win.”

Find out if the Wildcats can make it two wins in their opening three games tonight.  Buy your tickets in Ridings Shopping Centre store, the Rapid Solicitors Stadium box office or by calling 01924 201548.
